To fight recidivism, citizens with felony records must be able to find employment. For this group, finding gainful employment is often hard if not impossible. Many large US employers have deemed themselves to be felon friendly (See list of Felon Friendly employers). Rise-N-Step has created the Felon Friendly Employer (FFE) program in partnership with several large US employers to interview and hire Rise-N-Step members. If you are justice-involved and  looking for employment, become a premium member to register for our employment program. Twelve Best US States for Felons to Find Employment:

Below is a list of states that limit background checks to seven (7) years. All other states allow employers to go as far back as they want. Some states have salary cap-exemption, meaning the exemption isn’t offered if a person’s expected salary is over a certain range, usually $20,000 but some states go as high as $75,000. The states which limit background checks to 7 years are:
